Tesla Paint Shop Guide
Use custom templates to personalize the 3D vehicle preview on your Tesla in-car display. Follow this guide to prepare and apply your own wrap design.
Step-by-step guide
1. Download a template
Download a wrap template that matches your Tesla model.
- Browse templates by vehicle model
- Choose a free or paid design
- Download the PNG file to your computer
- Files downloaded from this site are automatically named in English for in-car use
2. Prepare a USB drive
Set up a USB drive so the template can load in your Tesla.
- Tip: a dashcam USB drive can usually be used
- USB format: exFAT recommended, FAT32, MS-DOS FAT, ext3, or ext4
- NTFS is not supported
- Create a Wraps folder at the USB root, with uppercase W
- Put PNG files in the Wraps folder, up to 10 images
3. Apply it in the car
Apply the wrap design in Tesla Paint Shop.
- Insert the USB drive into the glovebox USB port
- Open Toybox -> Paint Shop
- Tap the paint icon and switch to the Wraps tab
- Wait a few seconds, then select your custom wrap design
Requirements
Image requirements
- Resolution: 512x512 to 1024x1024 px
- Format: PNG required; do not just rename the file extension
- File size: up to 1 MB
- Filename: English letters, numbers, underscores, or hyphens only, up to 30 characters
USB and vehicle requirements
- Vehicle software: 2025.44.25.11 or newer
- USB format: exFAT recommended, FAT32, MS-DOS FAT, ext3, or ext4
- NTFS is not supported
- Folder: create Wraps at the USB root, uppercase W
- File count: up to 10 images at a time

Apply the wrap on the in-car display
After preparing the USB drive with your custom template, insert it into the glovebox USB port and follow this path:
Toybox->Paint Shop->Paint icon->Wraps tab
Wait a few seconds for your custom wrap to appear in the list, then select it to apply it to the 3D vehicle model.
Found the wrong model label?
If a template is tagged with the wrong vehicle model, you can help us correct it for other users.
Log in and download the template to unlock feedback
Open the template page, use the feedback button, and choose the correct model
After admin review, the model information will be corrected
Troubleshooting
Template does not appear in Paint Shop
- Confirm the vehicle software is 2025.44.25.11 or newer
- Check that the folder name is Wraps with uppercase W
- Verify the PNG file is within the 1 MB limit
- Use an English filename up to 30 characters
Image appears distorted
- Use the template for the correct vehicle model
- Keep a 1:1 aspect ratio
- Do not resize the template canvas incorrectly
USB drive is not recognized
- Reformat the USB drive as exFAT or FAT32
- Remove firmware update files from the drive
- Try the glovebox USB port
- Try another USB drive
