Tesla USB Wraps folder setup: from file copy to in-car Paint Shop
Set up the drive so Paint Shop can read it: root-level Wraps folder, supported USB format, file placement, and the Toybox -> Paint Shop -> Wraps path.
Quick setup
Create Wraps at the USB drive root, not inside TeslaCam or another folder.
Keep the uppercase W and do not translate the folder name.
Use exFAT or FAT32 first; NTFS is not listed as supported.
Insert the drive, then open Toybox -> Paint Shop -> Wraps tab.
Setup steps
Prepare the USB format
Start with exFAT or FAT32. Tesla documentation also lists MS-DOS FAT, ext3, and ext4; NTFS is not currently supported.
- Back up files before formatting.
- Remove map or firmware update files.
- A dashcam USB drive can usually be tested.
Create the Wraps folder
The folder must sit at the USB root and be named Wraps. Do not place it inside Downloads, TeslaCam, or another folder.
- Example path: /Wraps/design.png.
- Use uppercase W.
- Place the downloaded PNG files directly inside it.
Open it in the vehicle
After inserting the USB drive, wait a few seconds, then open Paint Shop from Toybox and switch to the Wraps tab.
- Use the glovebox USB port first.
- Reinsert the drive and wait if the list is empty.
- If it stays empty, follow the troubleshooting checklist.
FAQ
Can Wraps be inside TeslaCam?
No. Put it at the USB drive root, for example /Wraps/your-file.png.
Can I name the folder wraps?
Use Wraps with an uppercase W to match the documented folder name.
Why does the vehicle still not show my file?
Check USB format, folder location, PNG size, filename, and vehicle software, then test another USB drive.
